16-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured by Stray Bullet one in Custody

  • News

A 16-year-old girl from East La Penitence, Reyna Depeazer, is in critical condition at the Georgetown Hospital after being struck in the neck by a stray bullet. The incident occurred late last night while she was returning home from a friend’s birthday party in East Ruimveldt.

Around 11:30 PM, Reyna was riding with a friend when gunfire erupted in Mango Lane. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, and Reyna fell to the ground, unconscious. Concerned residents rushed to her aid, applying pressure to her neck to stop the bleeding before transporting her to the hospital.

Upon arrival, Reyna was admitted to the intensive care unit, where she is receiving emergency care. Local reports suggest that the gunfire was part of an altercation between rival gang members in the area.

Police sources have confirmed that a person of interest has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. The community is rallying for Reyna’s recovery and calling for increased measures to ensure safety in the area.
