A 23-year-old laborer from Bounty Hall, Chakall Sugrim, has been charged with attempting to commit a felony against 65-year-old businessman Ramkumar, also known as Prince. The case was brought before the Charity Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir presided.

The charge, which falls under Section 36 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, relates to an incident that allegedly took place last Thursday at Lot 7, Bounty Hall. During the proceedings, the charge was read to Sugrim, who was not required to enter a plea initially. However, under the Administration of Justice Act (AJA), he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Sugrim was granted bail in the amount of $100,000, and the case has been adjourned until March 23 for further hearings. The prosecution and defense will prepare for the next steps in this ongoing legal matter.
