Guyana Racing Industry Denies Allegations of Horse Smuggling

News

The Guyana Racing Industry has officially refuted claims circulating in a video about the alleged smuggling of horses, asserting that the allegations are false and baseless.

In a statement, the industry clarified that the transport of the horses was conducted via a privately chartered flight, complete with legal documentation and strict adherence to veterinary and quarantine regulations. They emphasized that the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) was only involved in providing charter services and had no role in the transport itself.

The organization has reached out to the individual who posted the video, requesting its removal. They expressed concern that such misinformation not only damages the reputation of individual horse owners but also undermines the growth of the sport in Guyana and the efforts of many small horsemen dedicated to building a future in racing.

The Guyana Racing Industry urged Amanza and the Forward Guyana Movement to use their platforms responsibly and avoid spreading falsehoods. They reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport and expressed openness to dialogue based on factual information.
