Loretta Sonia Cyrus, a 31-year-old cleaner, was found dead alongside her former partner, Cyril Saul, a 36-year-old security guard, in a suspected murder-suicide incident at the KK Villa Guesthouse on Tuesday.
Authorities recovered a firearm, ammunition, a knife, and a suspected poisonous substance from the scene, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Preliminary reports indicate that Cyrus had previously reported assaults by Saul during their relationship, leading to his arrest.
Relatives of Cyrus revealed that she had been discreet about her relationship with Saul, raising concerns for her safety. A brother of Saul described Cyrus as “a cool and calm” person, indicating that the couple had experienced turmoil. He recounted receiving a call from Cyril earlier on Tuesday, during which Saul mentioned that he and Cyrus had an argument and expressed a desire to go to the hospital.
Police confirmed that the couple had ended their relationship about two months prior. Investigators noted that both individuals were the only staff members on duty during the overnight shift at the guesthouse.
The bodies were discovered between 5:00 AM and 8:15 AM, with Cyrus found lying face down in Room 15, surrounded by blood, and Saul found on his back in Room 10.
