Isiah Charles and Sheldon Chase were remanded on Friday following their arrest for possession of narcotics with intent to traffic. The duo was apprehended on Thursday at Success Village, East Bank Demerara (EBD), when officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) intercepted their vehicle and discovered several brick-like parcels containing cannabis.
The narcotics seized weighed a total of 2.614 kilograms. After their arrest, Charles and Chase were taken to CANU Headquarters for processing.
On Friday, the two men appeared before Magistrate Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges. Bail was denied, and the case has been adjourned until April 2, 2026.
Ongoing investigations are expected to provide further developments in the case.
