Ronslee Isaacs, called “Rocky,” a 19-year-old miner of Kako Village, Upper Mazaruni River, has been charged with the murder of fellow villager Graig Hastings.
The charge of murder was laid contrary to Common Law of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
On Thursday, Isaacs appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court, where the murder charge was read to him. As the charge is indictable, he was not required to plead at the magistrate’s court level.
Isaacs was remanded to prison until 12th June, 2026, for the continuation of proceedings in the matter.
The Guyana Police Force has not provided further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Hastings or the events leading to the murder charge being laid against Isaacs.
