News Room Guyana Reported : A 32-year-old businessman from Campbellville, Georgetown, is recovering in hospital after being shot during a gun attack on Dowding Street, Kitty, on Tuesday morning.

Police said the incident occurred at about 11:45 hours when the victim and another man were travelling in a motor car and were approached by two unidentified males on a dark-coloured motorcycle.
According to investigators, one of the suspects, who was armed with a handgun, allegedly discharged a round at the vehicle, striking the businessman in the abdomen.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was treated by a doctor on duty and admitted. His condition has been listed as stable.
Police confirmed that the area has since been canvassed as part of ongoing investigations, with CCTV footage being reviewed and several persons already questioned.
However, no arrests have yet been made. The suspects remain on the run as police continue efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the shooting.
The incident adds to the growing number of gun attacks in Georgetown and underscores ongoing concerns about armed violence in the city.
