Authorities are preparing to file a second charge against 23-year-old Shaheed Mohammed, alias “Max,” in connection with the injuries inflicted upon the grandmother of 7-year-old Adriel Aftab Mohammed.

Crime Chief and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Wendell Blanhum, confirmed that investigators are currently finalizing their probe. The progression of the case is presently contingent on the recovery of the victim; detectives are waiting for the grandmother to be medically cleared so they can formally record her statement.
Once the statement is obtained, the completed case file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. Commissioner Blanhum noted that it will be up to the DPP to determine the specific nature of the additional charges based on a comprehensive review of the evidence.
Describing the incident as a “gruesome and despicable act,” the Crime Chief stated that police are withholding specific details at this stage to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
