Hear Me Out: The Case of Babyskello – Rawle Toney

Rawle Toney Wrote Via Social Media : If what happened to Babyskello doesn’t make you deeply uncomfortable, then something is seriously wrong.

Let’s be clear: while one can criticize the ignorance in his lyrics or the actions that led to his arrest, denying him bail and remanding him to prison is outrageous. Meanwhile, the internet is flooded with vile, racist rhetoric, and the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) remains silent. Where is the accountability?

For instance, Jennifer Ally has been openly running a campaign of hate and racism on social media. Is the ERC blind to that?

What Babyskello said should not be ignored or excused, but jail? Really? That’s excessive.

Dear Ethnic Relations Commission, I sincerely hope that, going forward, the standards are applied fairly and evenly. The young man apologized when asked to, but apparently, that’s not enough—not even a chance at community service?

Justice must be blind, not selective.
