Shazaam Ally Comments on Jaguar Symbol Proposal by Team Mohamed

In a recent statement, Shazaam Ally expressed strong doubts about the approval of the jaguar symbol proposed by the political party led by Team Mohamed. He pointed out that the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is unlikely to approve this symbol due to prior usage by another political party.

Ally noted that the ROAR (Rise, Organize, and Rebuild) party has already utilized the jaguar as its symbol in the past. He drew parallels to a previous experience in 2020 when his own party, The Citizenship Initiative (TCI), faced a similar situation. TCI proposed a symbol featuring a scale with a lily flower balanced on both sides, but GECOM rejected it, stating that the scale symbol was already in use by the Justice For All Party. As a result, TCI opted to proceed with just the lily flower.

In light of these precedents, Ally stated, “WIN will need to propose a different symbol in the interest of fairness and consistency.” He emphasized the importance of adhering to established guidelines to maintain integrity in the electoral process.
