In a recent statement, Ganesh Mahipaul, a prominent leader within the APNU coalition, addressed media reports suggesting he had been sidelined within the party. Mahipaul clarified his position and reaffirmed his commitment to the coalition’s goals.

“I have seen at least two media houses carrying stories with the headline, ‘Ganesh Mahipaul sidelined.’ Let me clear all doubts,” he stated. “I am a leader within my great party, and I sat with a group of other leaders where we unanimously agreed that Juretha Vanessa Fernandes should be the APNU’s Prime Ministerial Candidate. She enjoys my full support and confidence.”
Mahipaul emphasized that his dedication to serving the country and its people takes precedence over personal ambition. “For me, service to country and service to people are far more important than personal ambition,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of unity within the coalition, stating, “We are the APNU coalition, and the PNCR, of which I am a proud member, is a vital part of this coalition.”
Mahipaul’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about party leadership and the upcoming elections, as the APNU prepares to present a united front to the electorate.
