The body of 66-year-old George Julian Harry, a pensioner from Church of God Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, was found on Friday morning in a trench. Police Headquarters reported that the discovery was made around 07:45 hours.

According to the report, Harry had a history of seizures and was a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital. His body was discovered floating face down in the trench, clothed in a black T-shirt and navy-blue long pants, and was barefoot. A watch was found on his left wrist.
Upon examination, police noted that no signs of violence were visible on the most exposed areas of his body. An attending physician from the Melanie Fire Station pronounced him dead at the scene.
The body was positively identified by a relative, Arita Phillander. Authorities interviewed several individuals in the area and canvassed the vicinity for information. Surveillance cameras on a building opposite the scene were also noted, and statements are currently being collected.
The body was subsequently transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for storage, pending a post-mortem examination.
