Geewanram Girdharry, a 59-year-old resident of Bee Hive, Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara, tragically lost his life in a car crash on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around 5:30 PM when Girdharry was driving his motorcar (PAC 9952) along the Bee Hive Access Road. Reports indicate that he overtook another vehicle (PMM 2628) while approaching a bridge, accidentally hitting its side mirror. This maneuver caused him to swerve, resulting in his car veering off the road and into a nearby trench.
The vehicle, along with Girdharry, subsequently submerged under water. He was rescued from the submerged car and transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver of the other vehicle confirmed that he had no alcohol in his system.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
