Political Activist Kevon Lorrimer Hospitalized After Mild Heart Attack

Hgp Nightly News Reports : Political activist Kevon Lorrimer, who was sentenced to nine months in prison for fraud, has been hospitalized again after suffering what is described as a mild heart attack. This marks the third time he has required medical treatment since his sentencing.

Lorrimer was found guilty in absentia on June 19, 2025, by Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court. Following his conviction, he was taken into custody by police and has remained in their custody since.

He faced charges of obtaining money by false pretenses. Retired Assistant Police Commissioner and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission noted that once a commitment warrant is issued by the court, the individual must be handed over to prison authorities to begin serving their sentence as stated in the warrant.

The circumstances surrounding Lorrimer’s health and his legal situation continue to unfold, raising questions about the treatment of inmates and their rights while in custody.
