Forward Guyana Movement Engages with Carter Center Ahead of Elections

Hon. Amanza Walton-Desir, the Presidential Candidate of the Forward Guyana Movement (FGM), met with representatives from the Carter Center Election Observation Mission on Thursday. This meeting is part of ongoing discussions with political stakeholders as Guyana approaches its General and Regional Elections on September 1, 2025.

During the meeting, the FGM delegation expressed appreciation for the Carter Center’s continued involvement in Guyana’s electoral process. They discussed a range of electoral concerns, particularly highlighting recent attempts to stifle alternative political voices. The FGM emphasized the necessity of maintaining a level playing field during the election period.

The meeting included key FGM figures such as Prime Ministerial Candidate Nigel Nyambe London, Chairman Dorwain Bess, Elections Agent Nicholas Chesney, and National Candidates Malika Ramsey, Susan Farnum, Ronald Bulkan, and Randolph Critchlow.

FGM remains committed to fostering constructive dialogue with both international partners and local stakeholders to promote electoral integrity and democratic renewal in Guyana.
