Alliance For Change Announces Ambitious 100-Day Plan

Ahead of 2025 Manifesto

The Alliance For Change (AFC) has outlined its intentions for the first 100 days of governance, focusing on measures to alleviate the high cost of living in Guyana. Party candidate Jaipaul Sharma provided insights into this plan, emphasizing a series of sweeping initiatives aimed at benefiting all citizens.

Key Components of the 100-Day Plan:

$100,000 Cash Grant: Every citizen aged 18 and above will receive a cash grant of $100,000, aimed at providing immediate financial relief.

Support for Vulnerable Groups: Senior citizens and persons living with disabilities will receive a special grant of $150,000, with additional support for those on public assistance.

Core Homes Initiative: Plans to construct 200 core homes for individuals living in dilapidated conditions.

Community Infrastructure: Upgrade of 200 community roads to improve access and safety.

Additional Financial Grants:

$300,000 grant for mothers of newborns.

$500,000 grant to assist families with burial expenses.

Tax-Free Bonuses: Two-month tax-free bonuses for the country’s service members.

Sharma, who has a background in finance, emphasized that these initiatives would be funded by addressing corruption within the current budget, estimating that approximately $300 billion could be redirected to these programs.

Party Leadership Statements

David Patterson, Chairman of the AFC, reassured the public that the party intends to build on existing support programs initiated under the PPP/C administration, ensuring that benefits are enhanced through a more efficient system.

The AFC is set to unveil its comprehensive 2025 Manifesto soon, which will include further details on its plans for the Health, Education, and Public Infrastructure sectors.
