Police are currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on August 5, 2025, on the Crabwood Creek Public Road.

The incident involved motor vehicle #PAK 6598, driven by a 22-year-old male laborer from Crabwood Creek. The victim, an 8-year-old resident of the area, was reportedly trying to cross the road from west to east when the vehicle struck him.
According to the driver’s account, he was traveling south at a high speed in the eastern lane when the child ran into his path, resulting in a collision with the front left side of the car. Following the incident, the driver fled the scene but was later apprehended by police at the Crabwood Creek Access Road.
The child was found unconscious and transported to Skeldon Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by medical staff. His body has been placed in the Skeldon Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver showed no traces of alcohol, and the car has been examined by a Licensing and Certifying Officer. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
