'Soulja Boy' Charged with Seven Counts of Armed Robbery

Orlando Scott, also known as ‘Soulja Boy,’ a 27-year-old resident of Lot 1337 ‘E’ Field Cummings Park, Sophia, was arrested on August 5, 2025, by a rank from Turkeyen Police Station. He was charged on August 8, 2025, with seven counts of Armed Robbery, contrary to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

Four of these offences were committed against:

Erwin Walcott, a 45-year-old construction worker from Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara.

Shailo Walcott, a 22-year-old technician from Golden Grove.

Bernice Walcott, a 42-year-old housewife from Golden Grove.

Jada Hughes, a 17-year-old audit clerk from Golden Grove.

The armed robberies occurred on July 12, 2025, at Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara.

Scott appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison. The matters were adjourned to September 23, 2025, for report and statements.

Additionally, Scott was charged with another count of Armed Robbery committed against Nikesha Makardajh on June 18, 2025, at Enmore, ECD, and two more counts related to incidents involving Chandradai Singh and Balchan Singh on June 27, 2025, also at Enmore, ECD. For each of these charges, Scott pleaded not guilty, bail was refused, and he was remanded to prison. The cases were also adjourned to September 23, 2025, for report.
