Ameer Bacchus, known as ‘Pickachu’, a 24-year-old mason from Good Hope, was arrested on August 10, 2025, and charged the following day with armed robbery under Section 222(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act.
Bacchus is accused of robbing 56-year-old carpenter Ravendra Persaud on April 1, 2025, at Martyrs’ Ville, Mon Repos. He appeared in Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #2 before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs, where he pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied, and he was remanded to prison. The case is adjourned to September 17, 2025, for a report and statements.
