Woman Dies After Being Struck by Russian Embassy Vehicle

  • News

Sixty-four-year-old Ava Brathwaite succumbed to her injuries on Saturday after being hit by a Russian Embassy vehicle on August 6. She was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Brathwaite’s sister, Allison, reported that Ava had suffered severe injuries, including a punctured lung and brain swelling, and was in critical condition prior to her death. Following the incident, Allison hired a lawyer to seek justice and communicated with the embassy regarding support, but received no immediate response.

Witnesses claimed that Ava was struck from behind by a speeding diplomatic vehicle while returning home from work. The impact sent her car crashing into a utility pole. The family has faced challenges in obtaining information from the police and remains determined to pursue justice for Ava.
