Shadirra Jane Pugsley Statement : I am a proud daughter of the Wapishana Nation, deeply rooted in the traditions and teachings of my people from the Rupununi. Growing up, I learned the art of making cassava bread, a symbol of our identity and resilience. My cultural heritage shapes who I am and fuels my passion for advocating for my community.

Commitment to Education and Public Service
Born in the village of Sand Creek, my family instilled in me a strong sense of duty to serve our community. As a young Indigenous woman with a Diploma in Administration, currently pursuing further studies in Business Administration, I have witnessed firsthand the persistent challenges faced by our communities.
Addressing Discrimination and Marginalization
I have endured discrimination due to my ethnicity and understand the quiet indignities faced by marginalized groups. Our Indigenous peoples have historically been underserved, with our voices often silenced. It is crucial that we address these injustices.
Advocating for Indigenous Rights
Recent tragic events, such as the brutal rape of an Indigenous woman, highlight the urgent need for action. I am committed to advocating for the safety, dignity, and empowerment of Indigenous women and children, ensuring that justice is not just a promise but a reality.
Vision for an Inclusive Guyana
I seek public office because I believe every citizen deserves equity and a voice in shaping our nation’s future. I proudly stand with Mr. Azruddin Mohamed, the Presidential Candidate of the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party. His integrity and commitment to improving lives resonate deeply with our vision for a united Guyana.
WIN Movement Initiatives
The WIN Movement focuses on real, people-centered progress through initiatives like WIN for Children, Youth, Farmers, and Domestic Violence Victims. Policies such as AgriVision 2030, National Housing, Education, Youth & Sports Development, ICT, and Anti-Corruption Initiatives lay the foundation for sustainable transformation.
Time for Action
It is time for a new kind of leadership that prioritizes people over politics. Together, we can create a nation where every voice is heard and every region is valued. The time for real change is now. It is time to WIN with Mr. Azruddin Mohamed.
