AAG Seeks Equipment Support from Adidas

  • News

The Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG) has outlined a roadmap for 2025 focused on preparing athletes for global competitions while nurturing future talent. Following a successful performance by the junior squad at the Pan American Games, AAG President Sheryl Hermonstine will visit Adidas headquarters in Germany from August 24 to 27 to discuss securing new equipment for Guyanese athletes in preparation for the World Championships in Tokyo.

Earlier this year, the AAG secured a multi-year deal with Adidas worth US$300,000 for initial equipment and US$250,000 annually for the next three years. This partnership, facilitated by Guyanese Cubie Seegobin, includes both equipment and financial support.

Additionally, the AAG is preparing for the 2026 CARIFTA Games, with Niall Stanton coordinating efforts. A relay fest is planned for September to promote youth competition and identify new talent for future national teams.
