Attorney General Mohabir Anil Nandlall has secured a default judgment against Melissa ‘Melly Mel’ Atwell in a defamation case. Nandlall announced this during the Issues in the News program, revealing that he is awaiting a court date for the assessment of damages.
The legal proceedings began on November 22, 2024, with Nandlall seeking $100 million for allegedly libellous posts made by Atwell on Facebook. He stated that her claims have seriously damaged his reputation and that she has failed to provide any evidence to back her allegations.
Nandlall emphasized his commitment to pursuing the case until its conclusion.
