NCN Reports : Aladdin Dookie, 28, of Number 77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton, Berbice, has been found dead after going missing following a fishing trip on the Corentyne River.
Dookie, who was the boat’s captain, fell overboard near Orealla Village. He was discovered dead two days after the incident, with reports indicating that after an initial search failed to locate him, his wife, Amrita Singh, was later informed that his body had been spotted near Siparuta.
Police recovered the body, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Singh said Dookie had been fishing for seven years. He is survived by Singh and their four children—two daughters, aged nine and 1½, and two sons, aged six and four.
