Careme Charles, a 25-year-old painter from Lot 29 Middle Street, Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, was today charged with the offence of Felonious Wounding, in connection with an incident involving a fellow resident.

Charles was arrested on June 27, 2025, by ranks from the Enmore Police Station and charged under Section 57(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, for allegedly wounding 24-year-old labourer Leary Herod, also of Ann’s Grove.
The accused appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship Ms. O. Schmidt, where the charge was formally read to him. Charles entered a plea of not guilty.
However, during the proceedings, the virtual complainant informed the court that he wished to offer no evidence in the matter. As a result, Charles was granted self-bail, and the case was adjourned to August 4, 2025.
