This evening, Minister of Public Works Hon. Bishop Juan Edghill commended Ansa Motors on the introduction of the new Chinese-made Changan Hunter 4-Door Pick-Up vehicles to the Guyanese market.

He highlighted that consumer confidence in the automobile market is reinforced by this addition, signaling an increase in new vehicle purchases by Guyanese consumers. Minister Edghill credited this growth to the government’s engagement with various private sector groups to meet the needs of the expanding economy.
“So the world of possibility exists when you have good policy formation; you create an environment for investor confidence. Investor confidence is one thing, but partnership is what is important. Because partnership is when you discover the needs of each other, and in discovering that need, you will be able to create an environment to ensure that those needs are met,” he stated.
Minister Edghill added that the rise in vehicle ownership among Guyanese consumers is driven by increased homeownership, the expansion of road networks, and the reduction in vehicle maintenance costs.
