APNU Prime Ministerial Candidate Juretha Fernandes Ready to Serve

APNU Prime Ministerial Candidate Juretha Fernandes has expressed her readiness and honor in accepting the role. In a statement, she emphasized the profound responsibility that comes with this position, acknowledging that meaningful progress is achieved through collective effort.

“This moment belongs to the people of Bartica, who have shaped my belief in community; to the mentors who have guided me; and to the countless Guyanese whose struggles and aspirations must remain at the center of governance,” Fernandes stated.

Reflecting on her journey from the Bartica Town Council to her current candidacy, she highlighted that true leadership is rooted in service rather than personal elevation. “The lessons learned at the grassroots level were never mine alone; they were gifted by colleagues, elders, and constituents who demanded accountability and collaboration. That same spirit of teamwork must define our national path forward,” she added.

Fernandes emphasized that coalition politics is a strength for Guyana at this critical time. “No single voice or individual leader can unite our diversity or solve our challenges alone. What’s needed is disciplined unity and a shared commitment to policies that prioritize people,” she remarked.

She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Aubrey Norton, a principled leader whose vision aligns with the APNU Coalition’s ideals. “This role is not a platform for personal ambition, but an opportunity to contribute to equitable development, ensuring that every Guyanese benefits from our nation’s wealth,” she affirmed.

Her acceptance of the candidacy is a pledge to uphold the collective mission of governance, which she described as the daily work of listening, building consensus, and delivering results. “Together, with humility and resolve, we will prove that leadership means lifting others,” Fernandes stated.

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, she concluded, “The task is greater than any one of us. But united, we can achieve it for the people of Guyana.”
