The A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) will enter the next Parliament with a mix of old and new faces, having secured 12 seats in the September 1 elections.

APNU leader Aubrey Norton has announced he will not serve as an MP but will remain the party’s list leader. He is expected to release the official parliamentary list on Friday, having already finalized it with senior party leaders.
Well-known businessman Terrence Campbell is set to join the new parliamentary lineup, along with Dr. David Hinds, Linden Mayor Sharma Solomon, PM candidate Juretha Fernandes, and businessman Saiku Andrews. Other likely members include Coretha McDonald, Nima Flue-Bess, Vinceroy Jordan, Attorney Dexter Todd, and educator Riaz Rupnarain.
Mayor Solomon is anticipated to resign from his position to take his parliamentary seat.
For the first time, the PNC-led coalition will not hold power or serve as the main opposition, having lost significant votes. The newly formed We Invest in Nationhood party will take 16 opposition seats, while the PPP will maintain its majority with 36 seats.
Despite the disappointing election results, Norton remains optimistic about the party’s future, emphasizing a balanced approach in gender, ethnicity, and youth representation for the new parliamentary list. Some current MPs may serve temporarily to allow new candidates to step in.
