Assistant Superintendent Granted Bail for Assault Charge

Kevon Denny, a 45-year-old assistant superintendent of the Guyana Police Force, was released on $25,000 bail on Monday after appearing in court for allegedly assaulting his ex-partner.

Denny, who resides at Lot 406 Front Road, West Ruimveldt, faced charges before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which states that on December 21, 2024, he assaulted Christine Baird, causing her actual bodily harm.

The prosecution did not oppose the bail application. The case has been adjourned to August 4, 2025 for further proceedings.
