News Source Guyana Reports Attorney-at-Law Eusi Anderson has issued a stern warning that individuals may face legal action if they post or repost allegations of sexual exploitation involving Guyanese songbird Carlvin Burnette.

Burnette’s name has circulated on social media with claims suggesting he assisted a Guyanese cricketer in covering up alleged rape cases. Although these allegations have not yet reached the courts, they have garnered increasing attention in recent days.
Today, several social media posts alleged that Burnette has been negotiating with the purported rape victims on behalf of the cricketer to settle the cases. However, Burnette’s attorney has categorically rejected these claims as false.
“As a proud father of a two-year-old daughter, Carlvin Burnette wishes the public to know that he strongly condemns all forms of sexual exploitation of the young and vulnerable in our society. He remains ready and willing to cooperate with any public authority investigating the allegations. He is also prepared to submit to a lie detector test to prove his innocence,” the attorney stated.
The attorney further asserted that the posts and their subsequent sharing are damaging to Burnette’s character, giving individuals 48 hours to remove all allegations involving him.
“We sound a dire warning to all persons posting and reposting any allegations of Carlvin Burnette regarding his alleged involvement with a prominent international cricketer in Guyana: delete the posts from your devices and social platforms, desist from sharing defamatory content, or face the full force of Guyana’s cybercrime and civil laws,” the attorney threatened.
Legal action will be pursued against those who continue to share these allegations. The attorney emphasized that Burnette continues to contribute positively to Guyana through his music and social goodwill, and he will not allow his reputation to be tarnished by unfounded accusations.
