Hgp Nightly News Reports : In a recent development, Aubrey Norton, the Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), has called for an immediate apology from Ameir Ahmad, CEO of the Sheriff Group. Norton’s attorney, Dexter Todd, has sent a formal letter addressing the matter.

The letter references comments made by Ahmad during a conversation on the Melly Mel Facebook page, where he allegedly claimed a friendship with Norton. Ahmad stated, “I have a couple friends in the AFC and a couple friends in the PNC. Nobody knows me and Aubrey alright yuh know, yuh understand.” This conversation reportedly reached over 18,000 listeners and received significant engagement.
Norton’s legal team argues that Ahmad’s statements misleadingly imply an association between him and Norton, which the opposition leader finds offensive. The letter emphasizes:
“Our client vehemently denies any and all claims made by you of any friendship or association… our client does not know you and he is sure that you also do not know him personally.”
The letter further demands that Ahmad issue a public apology on all his social media platforms and those of his businesses by noon on August 13, 2025. The apology must clearly state that the allegations of association are false.
Should Ahmad fail to comply, Norton’s legal team warns that they will proceed with legal action without further notice. The situation highlights the ongoing tensions in the political landscape as elections approach.
