Twenty-two-year-old Orin Fraser, also known as “Lilawattie,” was granted bail today after being charged with robbery involving violence. Fraser, a sex worker, appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where he was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.

The allegations state that on April 10, 2025, at King Street, Georgetown, Fraser allegedly robbed Melvin Marks of a black cellphone valued at $78,000, a black purse worth $5,000, and $15,000 in cash, totaling $98,000. It is claimed that during the robbery, or immediately before or after it, he used personal violence against the victim.
Fraser informed the court that he is self-employed and resides at Lot 52 Princes and William Streets, Georgetown.
The prosecutor objected to bail, citing Fraser’s prior appearances in court on similar charges, including a past incident involving the alleged robbery of a police officer. The prosecutor argued that Fraser is familiar with the justice system and poses a risk of reoffending.
When questioned by the magistrate about the relationship between Fraser and the complainant, it was revealed that they had become acquainted via Facebook.
Despite the prosecution’s objections, the court granted Fraser bail in the sum of $80,000. The matter has been adjourned until August 8.
