George Joseph, a 26-year-old fisherman from Barima River, has been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder in connection with a serious incident involving a local farmer.
Joseph was arrested on Sunday, December 8, 2025, following an allegation that he attempted to murder 54-year-old Sandra Dawson on Saturday, December 7, 2025, at their shared community in Barima River.
Today, Joseph appeared before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea and has been remanded to prison pending further proceedings.
The case has been adjourned to February 7, 2027, as authorities continue their investigation into the matter, highlighting ongoing concerns over violence within the community.
