Kaleta Victoria Bristol, a 48-year-old businesswoman from Lot 867 Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on July 14, 2025, and subsequently charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The charge was filed under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10. Bristol appeared before His Worship Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail set at $50,000.
As part of the conditions of her bail, Bristol is required to report to the Enmore Police Station every last Friday of the month. The case has been adjourned to September 8, 2025, for further proceedings.
Bristol was apprehended with 152 grams of marijuana around 14:30 hrs on Monday when police ranks intercepted a motor pickup (Registration PAH 7995) at the Itaballi Police Checkpoint.
