Kemo Abrams, a 23-year-old resident of First Avenue, Bartica, faced multiple charges in the Bartica Magistrate Court earlier this week, appearing before His Worship Magistrate Teriq Mohammed.

Abrams was charged with several offenses, including:
Making a Loud and Continuous Noise: This charge was brought under Section 174(1) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:02, as amended by the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Amendment Act 1998. Abrams pleaded guilty and was fined $10,000.
Prohibition of Tinted Glass: In violation of Section 103 A (1) of the Road Traffic Amendment Act, Chapter 51:02, Abrams also pleaded guilty and received an additional fine of $10,000.
Obscure ID Mark on Motor Vehicle: This charge, under Section 13 of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02, resulted in a more substantial fine. After pleading guilty, Abrams was fined $130,000.
In total, Abrams faced fines amounting to $150,000, or alternatively, a six-week prison sentence. The court’s decision underscores the ongoing efforts to enforce noise regulations and vehicle compliance in Bartica.
