Mark Augustin, a 45-year-old resident of Four Miles, Potaro Road, has pleaded guilty to a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge in Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
Augustin appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed on August 4, 2025, where the charge was formally presented. Following his guilty plea, he was fined $200,000 or faced the alternative of serving six months in prison.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address and reduce incidents of impaired driving in the region.
