NCN Guyana Reports : A 27-year-old make-up artist from East Bank Berbice is expected to undergo surgery after she was allegedly shot multiple times on Sunday by her ex-boyfriend.

The victim, Vasanti Gordon, sustained five gunshot wounds to both legs. Police reports allege that the suspect, 28-year-old Damion Morgan, approached her while she was seated in her motorcar in front of her home and opened fire. After discharging the weapon, he allegedly struck her to the head with the gun.
According to the victim’s mother, Kay Gordon, an altercation between the suspect and a relative at the New Amsterdam Market Wharf immediately preceded the shooting. She said she is hopeful for her daughter’s full recovery and is calling for Morgan, who remains at large, to be apprehended and brought to justice.
Investigators recovered a spent shell from the victim’s vehicle. The evidence has been processed as part of the ongoing probe.
Morgan is known to law enforcement. He was previously charged in connection with the 2023 $50 million robbery at the Region Six Regional Democratic Council.
