On Sunday, police discovered the body of an unidentified female in a trench located between Barbie Dam and Lamaha Springs.
According to a police report, the woman, believed to be of mixed ancestry and between 40 and 50 years old, was found floating face down in the trench around 10:00 AM. Preliminary investigations revealed several visible marks on her body.
Emergency Medical Technicians were called to the scene to retrieve the body, which has since been transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for identification and a post-mortem examination.
Authorities have contacted and questioned several individuals in connection with the case. Investigations are currently ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. Further updates will be released as the investigation develops.
