Bradley Sampson, also known as “Doggie,” appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today facing a series of charges stemming from an incident at the Square of the Revolution on Tuesday. He was charged with:

Unlawful possession of a firearm
Unlawful carrying of a firearm with intent to cause terror or alarm to the public
Disorderly behaviour
Using obscene language
Threatening behaviour
Unlawful wounding
Sampson was granted bail set at $270,000 and is scheduled to return to court on August 15.
A well-known organizer and activist affiliated with the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party, led by US-sanctioned businessman Azruddin Mohamed, Sampson surrendered to the Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday with his lawyer. He was wanted in connection with the alleged assault of a woman involving a firearm during a dispute over payments for political mobilization efforts on Nomination Day.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday at the Square of the Revolution, where payments were to be distributed to individuals mobilized to march with WIN. Videos circulating on social media depicted Sampson in a violent altercation regarding alleged underpayment for participation in the march.
Although the woman involved filed a report at the police station and later expressed her desire to withdraw the matter, the police opted to proceed with the charges against Sampson.
