Fernando Teles Pereira, a Brazilian national from Boa Vista, was charged today with the offence of murder, contrary to common law, by a rank from the Guyana Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department.

The case was presented at approximately 09:30 hrs this morning (Friday) at the Mackenzie Magistrate Court before Her Worship Rhondel Weaver, where an arrest warrant was issued for Pereira. The matter has been postponed until October 22, 2025, for further report.
Pereira is accused of murdering Miguelys Centeno Gerdez, an incident that took place on February 20, 2025, at 9 Mile Trail, Mabura, in Guyana’s interior region. The Guyana Police Force plans to apply to INTERPOL for a Red Notice to assist in locating and apprehending the murder suspect.
