Bryan Mackintosh, widely known as ‘Bryan Max,’ and social media personality Mikhail Rodrigues, known as ‘Guyanese Critic,’ were charged on August 25, 2025, following a physical altercation over the weekend.

The two men appeared before Magistrate Leroy Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, facing separate charges related to the incident that occurred on Saturday, August 23, at Laluni Street, Georgetown.
Mackintosh, 59, of Turkeyen, Georgetown, was charged with using abusive language towards Officer Rogers and provoking both Rodrigues and Rogers with the intent to insult or annoy them. He denied all allegations and was granted bail of $15,000 for each charge.
Rodrigues, 45, faced a charge of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mackintosh, to which he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor did not object to bail, and Rodrigues was granted $100,000 bail, with his attorney, Bernard DaSilva, arguing that he has no prior convictions and is not a flight risk.
Both men have been cooperating with police investigators since the incident. The confrontation reportedly began when Mackintosh, a candidate for the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party, called into Rodrigues’ morning live show, claiming he was collecting money on behalf of businessman Azruddin Mohamed. This led to an invitation for Mackintosh to join Rodrigues in his studio, where the situation escalated into a heated exchange and physical aggression. The entire incident was broadcast live, generating significant attention on social media.
The cases were adjourned to September 15 in Court 3, as both individuals await further proceedings.
