Businesswoman Charged with Narcotics Possession

Tandy Liverpool, a 50-year-old businesswoman from Schoonord, West Bank Demerara, was arrested today and charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Liverpool appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrates Court around 11:20 AM. After the charge was read to her, she pleaded guilty. The court imposed a fine of $30,000 and ordered her to complete 90 hours of community service at the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station.
