Police reported the arrest of Budhu Persaud, a 35-year-old resident of Campbellville, on December 10, 2025. At approximately 20:35 hours, Sergeant Ingram, accompanied by two other officers, took Persaud into custody for failing to display an identification mark at the front of his vehicle and for operating an uncertified motor vehicle on Sandy Babb Street.

Persaud appeared before Magistrate Ms. S. Lallaram at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Seven on December 11, 2025, at 10:00 hours. The following charges were read:
Failing to display ID mark – Persaud pleaded guilty and was fined $150,000 GYD, with an alternative sentence of six weeks’ imprisonment.
Operating an uncertified motor vehicle – He also pleaded guilty to this charge and received a fine of $40,000 GYD or six weeks’ imprisonment.
In total, the fines imposed on Persaud amounted to $190,000 GYD. This incident underscores the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to ensure public safety.
