Cause of Death Revealed for Malcolm-Jamal Warner

US Magazine Reported : The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) has confirmed that Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s cause of death was “asphyxia due to submersion,” ruling it an accidental drowning. Warner, 54, was found deceased on Sunday, July 20, near Cocles beach in Limon, Costa Rica, after being caught in a strong current.

Reports from TMZ and People initially indicated that Warner had drowned, which was later confirmed by the Costa Rican National Police. The autopsy was completed on July 22, revealing the tragic details of his passing.

Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on the iconic sitcom The Cosby Show (1984-1992), garnered critical acclaim, including an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. His career continued with notable roles in Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between the Lines, Sons of Anarchy, and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, as well as a recent appearance on 9-1-1 in 2024.

In addition to acting, Warner achieved success in music and spoken word, winning a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance in 2015 and receiving a nomination for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album in 2022.

Despite the controversies surrounding Bill Cosby, Warner maintained that The Cosby Show remains a groundbreaking series, emphasizing its universal themes and impact on television.
