Chief Fire Officer and Station Officers Graduate with Associate Degrees

in Fire and Arson Investigation

The Guyana Fire Service proudly announces that Chief Fire Officer Gregory Wickham, along with Station Officers Javed Mohamed and Javon Kerr, have successfully graduated with Associate Degrees in Fire and Arson Investigation.

The officers completed their studies at the Sherlock Institute of Forensic Science in India, through the Government of Guyana’s GOAL (Guyana Online Academy of Learning) scholarship programme. This significant academic achievement marks a pivotal step in enhancing the technical and investigative capabilities of the Guyana Fire Service.

The Associate Degree program provides comprehensive training in fire science principles, arson detection, forensic investigation, and evidence management—skills that are essential for effectively preventing and resolving fire-related incidents across the country.

Chief Fire Officer Wickham expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to pursue advanced studies, noting that the program aligns with the strategic goals of the Fire Service. “This accomplishment reflects our ongoing commitment to professional development and to improving the quality of fire investigation in Guyana,” he stated.
