  • News

A tragic shooting incident on Charlotte Street claimed the lives of a woman and her partner on Tuesday around noon, with their 10-year-old son also injured in the event.

The deceased have been identified as 36-year-old Teekadai Solomon and her partner, 36-year-old Alroy Solomon, who is believed to have been the shooter. The couple’s son was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment following the incident.

Investigators are currently on the scene conducting a thorough investigation into the shooting. Reports indicate that Teekadai Solomon was an employee of ExxonMobil Guyana. The couple had recently filed for divorce, and Teekadai had been renting the Charlotte Street property after her home was destroyed in a fire a few months prior.

Coel Marks, the property owner’s brother, informed reporters that the couple had experienced domestic issues, and police are looking into at least two prior shooting incidents at the same location over the last three months.

Authorities are working to gather more information as the investigation continues. The News Room will provide further updates as details unfold.
