Henrick Serrao, a 39-year-old resident of Cummings Lodge, tragically lost his life on Friday morning following a motorcycle accident on Dennis Street, Sophia, Georgetown.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 3:00 AM, near the Juvenile Holding Centre. The accident involved a motor vehicle, PLL 6764, driven by a 22-year-old male from ‘B’ Field, Sophia, and motorcycle CN 4508, operated by a 44-year-old man from Cummings Lodge. Serrao was a pillion rider on the motorcycle.
Initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle was traveling east at a high speed along the northern drive lane of Dennis Street when the rider reportedly lost control and collided with the motor car, which was stationary on the northern grass parapet.
The collision resulted in both the rider and Serrao being thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway, suffering severe injuries. Despite prompt medical attention, Serrao was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The rider of the motorcycle fled the scene but was later located and arrested. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area as part of their investigation.
In the meantime, Serrao’s body has been taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Parlour Mortuary.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident, seeking to determine all factors involved.
