Family Dies in Accident : Driver Arrested

A tragic accident on the Pirara Trail in Central Lethem claimed the lives of 23-year-old motorcyclist Jagnarine Stephen, his wife Kyrea, and their two-year-old daughter Laurel on Sunday.

The collision occurred around 11:20 AM when the family, traveling on a red and black motorcycle, was struck by a minibus (BAC 8020) driven by 34-year-old Darwell Bernard. The bus was reportedly moving at 50 km/h when it hit the speeding motorcycle while negotiating a turn.

The family was thrown from the motorcycle, suffering multiple injuries. Jagnarine and Laurel were pronounced dead at the scene, while Kyrea succumbed to her injuries en route to the hospital.

The minibus driver was arrested, and breathalyzer tests showed no alcohol in his system. Investigations are ongoing.
