According to police reports, the collision involved Bhimsingh’s motorcycle and a car driven by a 60-year-old resident of Number 64 Village. Authorities stated that Bhimsingh was allegedly speeding, unlicensed, and not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. They claim the car driver was turning into the motorcycle’s path when the crash occurred.

Bhimsingh was transported to the Number 75 Regional Hospital in an unconscious state, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A breathalyzer test administered to the car driver reportedly showed readings of 7 and 8 micrograms.

However, Bhimsingh’s family disputes this account. They indicate that CCTV footage shows him wearing a helmet and present evidence of an overseas driver’s license, suggesting he was indeed licensed.

His cousin, Mattew Gangapersaud, criticized the police handling of the situation, stating, “The man made a U-turn and killed the boy, a young boy just starting his life.”

Moreover, Bhimsingh’s father, Motie Bhimsingh, expressed his grief, saying, “I really need justice for my son. I can’t let somebody kill my son just like that. He came to Guyana on January 10 and was supposed to leave this week.”

Investigations into the fatal accident are ongoing, as the family continues to seek clarity and accountability for Bhimsingh’s untimely death.
