Firearm and Narcotics Recovered at Crown Dam, Parika

Members of the Guyana Police Force’s Narcotics Branch conducted a successful operation today (Wednesday, June 2, 2025), leading to the recovery of a .45 pistol, 24 rounds of matching ammunition, and over 2,000 grams of illegal narcotics at Crown Dam, Parika.

The operation, led by a female Deputy Superintendent, uncovered two bulky plastic bags hidden in a clump of bushes along the dam.

Cannabis: One bag contained multiple parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, revealing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. This stash weighed a total of 698 grams.

Cocaine: The second bag housed a small white bucket filled with multiple transparent plastic bags containing a whitish cake-like substance, suspected to be cocaine, which weighed 1,386 grams.

Additionally, the bucket contained the .45 pistol along with a magazine holding 24 rounds of ammunition.

In total, the narcotics recovered during the operation weighed 2,084 grams. The police are continuing their investigation into the source and intended distribution of these illegal items.
